WHAT ARE SECOND SATURDAYS?

Second Saturdays is a monthly cultural event in downtown Dixon, Illinois. Every second Saturday, from 6-8 p.m., downtown businesses and organizations host a variety of art happenings such as visual artist work, musical performances, theatrical skits, poetry readings, and more. Select retail merchants also offer Second Saturdays specials for the evening. Second Saturdays aims to enliven the downtown and get people out walking to see what's going on in their cultural community. If you would like to participate click here.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZERS

Second Saturdays is organized by a core cooperative of local artists, Hope Greene, Rick Munson, John DeLong, Lisa Higby LeFevre; and local businesses, The Crystal Cork Wine Shoppe, Trein’s Jewelry, JSalon, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, and Distinctive Gardens.

Together we aim to enliven the downtown and get people out walking to see what’s going on in their cultural community.

WHERE IS DIXON?

Dixon is in Northern Illinois between Chicago and the Quad Cities just off Interstate 88. The city is less than an hour from Rockford, Peoria, DeKalb, The Quad Cities and numerous state parks.
